View snapshot capacity details

The snapshot capacity details view provides details about snapshot used capacity, system snapshot capacity, and storage group snapshot capacity.

Steps

  1. Select a storage system running PowerMaxOS 10 (6079).
    The system health dashboard is displayed by default.
  2. Hover over CAPACITY to view the capacity summary for the storage system.
  3. Click CAPACITY and select the system or an SRP instance.
  4. Click the Snapshot bar chart to view the snapshot capacity details page.

    The snapshot capacity details page displays the following:

    • Snapshot Used Capacity - Consists of a chart that displays the effective capacity used by snapshots (in blue) and the physical capacity (in gray) used by snapshot after data reduction, a display of the value for the snapshot effective used capacity, and a display of the value for the snapshot physical used capacity. Click the chart to update the values for the System Resources and SRP section to show the values on that date. The storage group snapshot capacity view is also updated to show the storage group values on that date.
    • System Snapshot Capacity - The snapshot resources (percentage of snapshot metadata currently consumed for the entire system) and the snapshot resources used (capacity that is used by snapshots as part of snapshot metadata capacity) are displayed.
    • Storage Group Snapshot Capacity view - The view has the following properties:
      • Storage Group—The storage group Identifier. Click the storage group identifier to view the storage group details (see View storage group snapshot compliance view).
      • Provisioned (GB)—The amount of capacity provisioned (TDEVS created)
      • Snap Effective Used (GB)—The amount of effective capacity used by snapshots
      • Snap Physical Used (GB)—The amount of physical capacity used by snapshots
      • Snap Resources (%)—Percentage of resources used by snapshots (not displayed by default)
      • Snap DRR—Snapshot Data Reduction Ratio (DRR) (not displayed by default)
      • Snap Unreducible Capacity (GB)—Snapshot unreducible capacity (not displayed by default)
      • Total Effective Used (GB)—The total amount of effective capacity used (not displayed by default)
      • Total Physical Used (GB)—The total amount of physical capacity used (not displayed by default)
      • Effective Used (GB)—The amount of effective capacity used (not displayed by default)
      • Physical Used (GB)—The amount of physical capacity used (not displayed by default)
      • User Data (GB)—The amount of user data (not displayed by default)
